- Do the
video!
With three different workouts, you're sure to have some variety! - Go to the park and try the things your children are doing. Climb the monkey bars and have swinging contests...act like a kid!
- If your home, yard or local park has enough room, hold ‘relay races’ where you and your child race each other. Try to walk, run, go sideways, backwards, funny walks, bear walks, etc.
- Try a new sport with your child (taking into account you and your child’s comfort AND safety) such as:
- Prenatal (pregnant): swimming, prenatal aerobics
- Infants: golf driving range, walking (baby in infant carrier or stroller), a stroller aerobics class
- Toddlers: bicycling (with child in carrier, with a helmet), light hiking (with child in appropriate back-carrier), ‘child-water aerobics’ (jumping up & down while holding them)
- Pre-schoolers: child bicycling while you walk/run beside them, soccer ball kicks & runs, baseball hits & throws.
- See if your community center or local gym has a child-care facility. This is a great way for PARENTS to have a little break and many children enjoy playing with new toys and kids.
